Last week a part of classes 4 returned from a language trip to Eastbourne, England, where we had stayed for a full week: from Wednesday to Wednesday.
Three teachers flew with us: Mrs. Karner-Rühl, Ms. Trummer and Ms. Wieser.
Sarah, Doris, Lea, Emma and I stayed at a host family together. Our host parents’ names’ were Maria and Lee. We were divided into two rooms, which were tiny though. We put our heavy suitcases under our bed, so we at least had a bit of space to walk around. The host family was really kind and considerable. Maria cooked for us every single day. They treated us like their own children. We were very lucky about that.
On the first day, we arrived in Eastbourne. Moments later, our host family picked us up and showed us where we would live for the next exciting week.
On Thursday, we went to the language school in Eastbourne for the first time. After that, all of us went hiking to the “Seven Sisters”. That was fun! The landscape was amazing, but it was also a little bit windy.
Other afternoon trips included Hever Castle and Canterbury Cathedral, which were all beautiful places to visit.
On Saturday and Sunday, we went to London, where we visited all the famous sights. I really enjoyed our city trips. My highlight of the week was definitely London Eye. From up there you can see almost the entire city (which is huge!). The wheel moved in a circle very slowly, so you are able to look around and take in all the beauty London has to offer. That was a beautiful experience!
I think I’ll never forget that trip! Personally, I would never want to live in England – for different reasons. But it’s a pretty place to visit, I think.
I’m very thankful that I go the chance to fly to England with my class and my teachers!
